What's the next hot swap?

v8 power is nice, but the inline 6 has such a nice power band. on a more personal note, i like the I6 sound, and torque. maybe its a preference thing, but ill stick with I6's for life. maybe next year, when money allows, ill slap an m54 in the e24 for some modern tech, and better power curve -
It makes sense. American cars aren't good at handling, but damn they make power. Euro/asian cars tend to be much better at handling but have overly complicated engines. It's hard to argue with cheaper raw american muscle.Leave a comment:

More people in every community Are turning to American muscle, I've seen countless drifters running ls motors, a couple e30 5.0's, misted with s10 motors or v6's
American muscle is reliable power, that's where swaps are at now and will continue to venture intoLeave a comment:

you can do a masterless brake setup. It's not my preference though.Leave a comment:

I was looking around some wondering, "why don't more people swap in LS's?"
And then I found the thread where the guy had to swap to a hydroboosted brake setup and relocate it to behind the headlight through a linkage system running through the frame.
Has anyone figured out a better solution, or is that the best way to do it?Leave a comment:

I am waiting for a N20 short block to pop up, I am going to rebuild one and run it as an N/A build.
Yeh that is right, N/A N20 motherfuckers.Leave a comment:

I'd have to go with the M54/S54. Its the next step in engineering, and getting cheaper by the month. Gotta learn to crawl before you can run.Leave a comment:

Just as I can supply software flashes for the s54 swap, I can do it for the S62. It's almost the exact same software and DME. And I have chips for M60 swaps or can perform a remote tune if required.
I'm surprised more M62 pre-vanos swaps are not out there. Seriously heavy duty torque and pretty impressive HP can be made with these, especially if one strokes it with commonly availalble factory parts. Can easily be run on simple standalones too, or, wiring is easy for stock computers....the earlier M60's even having Miller WAR chip tune-ability I believe.
S62 is more likely, as its front sumped, flashes are out there, but still not cheap.
