alu thermostat housing

Hey guys, do you know if the regular M52 thermostat and thermostat housing work on the M52tu/M54 block?

Ive seen this kit

And it looks pretty much like the alu thermostat housing used to upgrade m50/m52.

No, the M54 cannot use the cheaper m50 aluminum thermostat housing. (the 2nd vanos is in the way)







Though if your crafty and comfortable with a TIG you could likely correct that.

and what about the thermostat? if im not mistaken the one on the M52TU/M54 is electric, in order to replace it, is it possible to use the mechanical one from M50/M52??
