    PS pump hits e34 oilpan?

Went to Install the s54 PS pump on the engine with an e34 oil pan and the inlet of the PS pump hits the oil pan preventing it from being mounted. I haven't heard about or run into this problem before and it only hits just enough to prevent it from going on. I heard of another person whit this issue on the m54 but not the s54. RealOEM only shows one s54 pump part number... are there different pumps? Ideas?

    Thanks

correct. You must use 92-99 e36 6 cylinder PS pump

Looking at some of the build threads here... FredK comes to mind. They look like they are using the s54 PS pump. I must be missing something.

So to correct some info in this thread... the e46 M3 pump DOES FIT on the s54 with the e34m50 oil pan. It is a very close fit at best. If you find that your pump does not fit it is because of the assembly tolerances of the pumps. To fix this remove the pulley from the pump then loosen the 3 bolts that secure the pump itself from its mounting bracket. These are the 3 bolts right behind the pulley. Move the pump relative to the bracket as far to the drivers side of the car as it will go then tighten the bolts. It should now fit on the car with a millimeter or 2 of clearance to the oil pan. If it still doesn't fit you can rotate the inlet port that hits the pan a few degrees relative to the pump away from the pan to gain some additional room.
