    Oil Pump Question.

Hi, I'm piecing together my S54 Swap. I have the E34 M50 Oil pan, oil pick up and dipstick. I just bought an oil pump from an S52 will that work? Someone told me that the way to go is the E34 M50 oil pump. But I've done some cross referencing of part numbers and it seems that the 6 cylinder E36's all used the same pump that I bought (The s52) so it should work right?

    Same pump.
You just need the oil pump gear from the s54 pump or a euro gear.

Correct. And to add slight detail to this. The s54 gear is the same sprocket diameter it is just offset incase anyone was curious as to why to use the s54 gear.

sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm reviving my build and considering an M54B30. If I understand what's going on in this thread, I can use the M54 Gear, M52 Pump and E34 Pickup tube to work with my E34 Pan?

Pretty sure the e34 pick up tube won't bolt to the m54 block. We used a euro e38 728i pick up tube and it bolted right up, others have modified the stock m54 tube to fit the pan
