Wiring almost done, need a little help

Pretty close to done, but a few things I've gotten hung up on.
I'm really stupid when it comes to wiring. Like extra stupid, so bear with me here...

    1) I'm using Andrew's conversion harness. Since I will use the E34 M50 oil sender, I can cut and cap off the wires for the S54 oil sender from the E46 M3 engine harness, correct? I want things as minimal as possible.

    2) The smaller black wire coursing from the battery in the trunk to the junction in the engine bay that goes along with the thick black wire...this is also power, or ground? If power, what's the point of this wire instead of just having the thicker black one?

    3) The black plastic box that bolts to the intake side of the engine...the thick red and slightly smaller black wire that comes off of it go to terminal 30 and terminal 50 on the starter, right? Or is one of these grounded?

    4) What do the 3 white plugs go to?

    5) What does the small 2 prong plug go to coming off the smaller black plastic box? (not the one that bolts to the intake side of the engine)

    6) The black wire that splits off before the connection for the O2 sensors etc....power or ground?

Once I have your harness and the E46 M3 harnesses connected, there still is the matter of the old harness that is the E36 M52 stuff somehow spliced into the E30 harness. I bought my car with an M52B28 swap. The previous owner rewired the E30 harness by the fuse box to be integrated with the M52 engine harness. I'm not sure what I can get rid of and what I need to keep. Wires of different colors etc are spliced together and I have no idea how to decipher the mess coming out from around the fuse box. Any ideas? Clearly some relay (fuel pump it looks like) is wired in there, but I'm not sure where/what to cut out. Here's a couple pics

One of the bundles is 2 wires, one which grounded out on the starter (since M52 starter had 4 terminals) and one was power - I'm guessing this is related to sunroof? Since the S54 starter only has 3 terminals, do I connect them both to power? Or ground the one that was grounded on the M52 starter?

Any help is much appreciated. This is the only stuff I can't seem to really figure out on my own. At this point this is the biggest roadblock to getting my swap done.

Here's a bit of a teaser - obviously the airbox etc is just there to check fitment

I don't see anywhere on the O2 sensor harness the white plugs can go? Just the round tubular back connections like the O2 sensors have.
And by split wrap off shoot, do you mean the picture under "6)"?
      Thanks!

        1) Yeah you can cap it off or just tuck it out of the way, either way it isn't going to be an issue.

        2) It's power, sits above the battery terminal in the engine bay if you have the correct block. Just connect everything to the main battery cable, wouldn't worry about the small one.

        3) Yes they are for the battery. Other end of the red wire should pop out and connect to the alternator.

        4) I don't think they plug into the O2 Loom, it might be the Ignition loom? I remember there being a white plug like that on there.

        5) Don't know, mines unplugged.

        6) I would peal back the sheath and check wire color. Red = Power, Brown is Ground. You don't want to get these wrong, Most likely a ground though.

For your butchered Fusebox wiring, grab the E30 ETM for your model / year and rewire the C101 if that was changed to the X20? Or if it was just wired direct. Either way, your adapter loom probably has the C101, so wire that back onto your fuse box which should be straight forward.

          6) the wire is black. So power or?

As far as the fuse box stuff, my car still has a c101. I'll have to print some of it off I guess and look st it with the parts in front of my face and etm in my hands. Since I have absolutely no clue what the PO did I'm not real sure where to start
