    M54b25 bad CCV?

    Hey guys!

I am wondering what symptoms would show? This is why I think it is the CCV. The car will eat oil. I changed the valve cover gaskets as well as the plug gaskets.
The car will chirp on/off throttle around 2k. Also when I shut the car off a second after shut down the car will throw a whistle. It almost sounds like a turbo set-up?

Currently in an e46, not an e30 sadly.

whats the oil cap look like?

do a compression test and a leak down... ALSO do a smoke test. that should help you narrow it down.

I am at work and the car is a few hours away on top of that....

I know I started it once and it poured smoke out.

Can you provide more information on how to properly smoke-test? I will be searching in the meantime, not being lazy. Just hate burning so much oil.

a quick google search will yield the info you need on a smoke test. i have a machine that does just that but there are DIY versions that you can use.
