    Clunk under acceleration.

Ok, so I've been driving this car with the front driveshaft removed for about 6 months and I finally got around to putting it all together to get the AWD working. PO said the driveshaft was stripped and removed.

The splines in the TC looked great so I got a new shaft, and installed it with a new guibo and a dollop of BR2-plus.

First thing I did was do the jack test, and the car moved forward ass soon as I lifted my foot off the brakes. Sweet! Very tight viscous!

However, when I drive it I hear a loud clunk/pop on takeoff only. I can avoid the noise if I very gently accelerate, but I have to go very easy on it.

Anyone had a problem similar to this? What should I check now?

Where does it sound like it's coming from?

take a look at the rear shaft ujoint. might have some slack. Or you might have worn rear subframe bushings. No noise when hitting bumps?

It did't make the noise while driving without the front driveshaft installed so i really doubt it's the rear subframe or driveshaft. It sounds like it's coming from either the t-case or front diff. Splines on the driveshaft and t-case are perfect. With the car on jack stands i can't feel any looseness in the drivetrain when i jerk the wheels by hand.
