    power steering problem

My power steering seems to not be working at full capacity, there is plenty of fluid and I'm pretty sure there is no major if at all any leaks. I turn my wheel a full rotation or so and then it makes a loud click. When I go to straighten the wheel out I have to do all the work. Then the click comes again when the wheel gets straightened back out. Someone said it could be a problem with the guibo, I have no idea. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you flushed/bled the system? Might help?

Peel back both inner tie rod boots and confirm there are no leaks. They should be bone dry. I swapped in another pump to confirm that my problem was the rack itself. You might try that before dumping money on a rack. I bought a used rack and installed myself. Big job, but mangeable with a lift and air tools. Clicking in the front end when the wheel is at full turn is sometimes attributable to the CV axles. That is probably not the case with yours. The hard steering/turning seems to be a rack to me, but again that's only my personal experience.

I haven't seen any racks go without blowing out a seal.
Might be a good idea to check your strut mounts for grease. If they've been washed out you might be fighting rusty bearings - they're part of the steering system too.
How long has it been doing this? Since you got the car?

I got the car and didn't realize anything was wrong with it, the first couple days I was dirving around it seemed fine to me but I don't know I randomly noticed it was pretty hard to turn the wheel, every once an a while it will straighten itself out but it doesn't do it 100% and it's usually only after left hand turns that it will actually do it, i'm not sure if the struts are greasy or not so I guess I'll check on that, thanks for the help:)

I had one issue - not saying its the same as yours - when i bought an IX. The steering was tough and it tracked strange when cornering, even though the alignment looked ok. Turned out there was 2 problems.
                  1. the flexjoint(ujoint) in the steering column was very stiff, clogged with gunk
                  2. the PO had replaced bad tierod ends with ones for a normal e30. They do fit but do not work. You can tell they're different because the IX ones have some wierd bends, but the normal ones are identical side to side.

If the problem is the flexjoint, steering will still be tough if you have the front end up in the air.
If its the wonrg tierods, you should be able to see they're wrong. At that point, you simply have to replace them, which is crappy cuz they're expensive.

Easy to check the strut mounts too. Pop the cap and look inside. Should be very greasy, not brown(rusty). Deteriorating rubber on your mounts is a sign of failure as well and will be a source of clunking noises when hitting bumps.
