    Ebay turbo kit

    Hey guys,
Has anyone tried the ebay turbo kit and if so, what is your experience with it?
This is one of the kits on ebay, do you know of a better one?

I'm currently piecing together my own kit. I'd try and stay away from the eBay kits though, manifolds, ic piping and intercooler are fine from eBay. The turbos are fine but I would recommend having it rebuilt with good internals such as Garrett. But don't cheap out on the wastegate, bov, etc. It could potentially cost you an engine.

+1 get the kit run low boost untill u can purchase a rep turbo and ur set. I did this on a civic I had . But it is also best to get a cast manifold . The horn style tubular ones on eBay are pretty thin . And if u do use the tubular mani make some support beakers for the weight of the turbo.

The manifolds tend to be hit and miss, some clear the oil filter location, some don't. Some crack, some don't.

Any update on how this worked? I know it's an old thread. Considering the same, i'm noobish enough that I need a decent kit or something to start with. I have more $$$ then smarts.

So i know you started this thread over 2 years ago, ever end up installing the ebay turbo? And if so how's it held up? I'm thinking of going with a knockoff turbo at low boost but i know i can be playing with fire on that one.
