    Where does the starter ground?

I am looking to replace the grounds as preventative maintenance and I can see and trace the alt to starter ground as well as the ground from the front chassis (behind the driver headlight area) to the the driver side front of the oil pan. Where does the ground strap ground from the starter? I have an 88 325ix.
    TIA

Looks like it grounds through the block to the gound strap.

That looks to be helpful, but I am not able to decipher these electric schematics... I would appreciate a translation of this :)

If you plan on working on cars knowing the symbols is a must. there are 4 wires on the starter. A fat black, a fat red, and a small black/green and black/yellow come off the starter too. Fat black is power to motor, fat red goes to charging system (guess thats alternator?) black/yellow goes to diagnostic port on front of engine and black/green power comes trough c101/relays and ignition switch. the M with the circle around it is stater motor and you can see the 3 parallel lines below it is the symbol for ground.
