iX Manual Transmission question

Does iX have an unique tranny or is it the same Getrag 260 used with the other M20 models? Thanks!

It's unique to the IX. From what I understand the guts are mostly the same, but the output shaft and flang is designed to bolt to the transfercase.

exact same Getrag 260 trans 2wd or AWD ,just the tailshaft housing is different to mount the Tcase to (and this changes some of the shift mechanism parts also). you can take a standard 2wd trans and swap the AWD tailshaft housing to it and put it right into an ix. even the gear ratios are all the same .... but the diff ratios change to make up for added weight
