    Removing the transfer case...what else?

So, I stupidly tried to install my short shift kit today without having searched for iX specific instructions first, and no matter how I manipulated my hand I couldn't even come close to reaching the linkage.

So, now I realize that I need to remove the transfer case. Is there anything else I should do "while I'm in there"? The flex disk thing on the driveshaft probably...

My transfer case is starting to fling a little fluid on the surrounding area, any idea what seals I should replace?

    Thanks for the help.

auto or manual? if auto, you need to replace a gasket between the trans/xfer case. if manual, the seal on the back of the trans/front and rear seals, all the consumables in the shifter. do a search for this here and in the ix section of the other forum. this is a frequently asked question.

Sorry, manual. Apparently I'm developing a habit of doing first and searching late. I will work on that.
