    Manual Transmition

    Hey guys,

    I tried to search but did not get anywhere!

    Will any other e30 manual transmition fit/bolt right in on the IX? I think mine is making a grilling sound and it stops when in neutral!

    Drive it like you just stole it! :p

      The rear tail housing on the ix g260 is different, you will need to swap that over. The rwd g260 doesn't have the four mounting bolt holes for the transfer case that the ix version has.

          The output and layshaft assemblies are pressed into bearings which are pressed into the rear cover. "Swapping" rear covers amounts to a major disassembly of the transmission.

          Changing front case halves is relatively straight forward, however.
