Auto Trans Replace

I have an 89 325ix with an auto trans. Winter is quickly here and I need to replace the transmission. Doing a 5 spd seems like a fantasy at this point but I can find plenty of E30 325i auto trans but like 3 325ix tranny's on the entire planet.

Can someone confirm with real knowledge that a regular 325 transmission will work with the 325ix. I've heard the bell housing 100% needs switched out but what else if anything?

You need IX Transmission, A normal rear drive transmission will not work.

The rear case is unique to the iX.
