I have went through the search function - I apologize now if I missed this bit of info..
I am having an alignment done on the 1990 IX - it completely shredded a new front drivers side tire..within 5,000 miles..
It has new tie rods - and control arms had been inspected this summer (by me - when I changed the front wheel bearings..
I did not have it aligned in August when I did the work and put brand new tires on it - my son took it to college and I ran out of time - not an excuse - just an explanation.
I understand only the toe can be altered in the front (stock suspension) and rear needs a pivot bushing to correct toe.
Question - I have read that toe needs to be within -.04 and .04 degrees. and has been suggested to ask for a negative toe - to make it easier to travel down the road. Is this true - and what should I ask for " a little negative toe"?
Question - The Bentley describes the car being loaded with 150lbs in both seats and rear seat center (450 pounds total) and a full tank of gas to properly run the alignment test.. Is this something that must be done - if 90% of the driving is done by one person in the car?
