Need some suggestions, T-case leaking & daliy driver

Hey iXers, I need some help here.

IX with 123k and the transfer case is leaking ATF. Recently it's turned into a puddle, I just got back from a 1070 mile roadtrip though. I'm going to keep checking the level and filling it. With school going on and the car down. I need a car everyday, that car happens to be my iX. So either way I'm going to have to rebuild it, not sure if I can do it in a weekend. Thought about buying another daliy. Advice is appreciated! I'm not working but still have to get to school and events. :-? If you have experience rebuilding one tips are always good. So yeah let me know if you have any questions about me writing this in panic. Oh and I was just planning on getting seals/ gaskets but if there's anything else i should replace besides the mount and guibo lmk.

Where is it leaking exactly? Front driveshaft seal? Read driveshaft seal? Between the cases?

I believe it's the front driveshaft seal but having pulled the driveshaft, kinda looks like there was some grease coming out with it. Possibly between the cases but most likely front seal..

Yes need more info on where leak is, if ouput seals they can be replaced without removal. Don't assume it needs a rebuild just for a leak

Ok let me get it up in the air. How can I tell if it's a output seal leaking on the front driveshaft end? Fluids getting flung up on the tunnel and some under the DS floor pan. I'll try and get some pictures uploaded.

If its getting flung it a good possibility it's a driveshaft doing the flinging. You can pull the plastic protection cone back on the front shaft and look at seals. Maybe clean the area and run it to see if leaking. Rear shaft output seal usually just leaks down back of case

Yeah it's certainly leaking from that seal. Apparently the atf removes undercoating pretty easy too

Here's one with the cover off. I thought it was the intermediate seal between the cases at first but I guess not, any tips for the removal/ install besides removing driveshaft and the ATF. Lol

There are two seals there first is in backwards with the tension spring removed (its a dust shield) second is in normally and is the true seal. Be very carefull if removing with pick type tools so as not to scratch the sealing surface(I actually drove two sheetrock screws into the seals 180deg apart and used those to pull the seals out), also tape over the snap ring groove so as not to cut new seals when installing
Carefully measure seal depths to be sure new seals are installed at same depth.
                  Install carefully/squarely with deep socket.

Thank you Angus for the great suggestions!
27211224632 #6 on real oem. Looks like the right part.
This is the seal part #?
Didn't see the dust sheild. Is reusing it ok?
Also I just checked and its backordered!

I found one that might work though. It's a precision shaft seal, same dimensions so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Compared to the OE one which is probably NLA.

New ones are not NLA from BMW. You just order quantity of 2. If you notice in the catalog it shows qty 2. Like spdracrm3 said above the outer most one goes on backwards with the spring removed.

#27 is the part you want two of. #6 is the rear driveshaft output seal
