Garagistic DSSR & Z3 1.9 shifter

Ok guys just checking if anyone has a DSSR and short shifter in their iX? I'm on the fence about just buying the DSSR but I want a shorter throw aswell. I know the DSSR makes 2->3 & 4->5 notchy but I'm not really sure if I would like having the shorter throw either. I'm going to probably get both but I'd like some opinions. Currently my daliy driver for now but I have plans to make the car fast.

I'm thinking I should just get it machined. Edit I filed the DSSR until it fit snug but without it binding.

The notes about the Z3 shifter in RealOEM say "Plastic washers not required". While older shifters need the plastic washers on the sides, they are built into the Z3 shifter... thus a DSSR made for the older style shift levers with the expectation of deleting the plastic washers doesn't fit.

No machining needed. Those ends need to be filed down on shifter just a touch with a file on both sides and it fits snug. Its on the listing page "Compatible with oem style shiftier only (some shifters will need to be slightly filed down to fit)"

So I got it on but it's very stiffto move. Is this okay or should I take off more material? I feel like it's should be very easy to move..

i took a dremel sanding wheel to the bushing on each side until it slid in. If its tight, it'll "self machine" itself every time you shift :)

I also bought a garagistic DSSR, no z3 shifter yet (though considering). I also plan to "get around to installing it". I guess it's a race:), but I'm losing considering I have a 5 month head start or something stupid like that.

Haha, yeah that's just how the ball rolls. It's my daliy so either I do it on a weekend or I wait for a break in school. But I also need to do a couple other things before this. Plus I don't need to swap it out, my linkage is pretty good still.
