325 ix transmissions

I'm wondering about transmissions on these cars? I've seen

4 speed autos
5 speeds

Auto with electronic sport/economy switches.

Which are good, which should i stay away from?

I'd really like a 5speed but they are hard to come by.

The five speed manual provides a lot more control and acceleration. There's a very nice one currently for sale on your side of the continent: 5 speed iX for sale

I did see that one, and it is quite nice. Unfortunately I need a 4 door as our kids are still in car seats.
