    loose part behind front hub...

    It is part #5 here:
    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...98&hg=31&fg=10

I cant figure out how it is all of a sudden loose and rattling around quite loudly while driving. Anyone else had this happen and have a fix?

It is a perfect fit from the factory. If any thing hit it, it will distort the shape and it wont fit. Worse thing is the hub has to come out to replace it.

another source told me it was pressed to the hub, but on inspecting the other side it infact does not spin with the hub.

I ended up getting out the welder and just tacking it in a few spots. Seems fine for now. At least till I can do a 5 lug swap.:D

Yea that should hold. Its not pressed on. Just a perfect fit and when you distort the shape its bad. I just replaced mine when I did bearings.

I was driving down the road and noticed a weird rattling noise coming from the front left. I assume that its this part also.
