Hello community,
After doing some maintenance on my 325ix, namely an Oil Change, the car has been making a strange noise. It sounds like it would be a wheel bearing, but It also occurs in neutral, and when parked. Apparent turning hard lefts.
Only probable cause would be when I let the car down from the jacks, the engine bumped up and hit the hood. ( I already feel dumb about this).
Now this noise sounds like a scraping combined with droning it's very faint, but It's there. In neutral and while not moving, the sound is still there just very faint. I popped the hood, and It sounds like it is coming from the passenger side of the engine. There is nothing obvious which it could be upon inspection. This sound comes on a little harder when turning left and has no effect from speed of the car.
It does sound like it could be coming from the front of the engine as well, but its really hard to pinpoint, and the turning phenomenon makes it a little more strange to diagnose.
Edit:
Can be heard when Cranking, and when Engine Shuts off too, almost faint like flywheel scraping or something?
Edit:
Maybe coming from the Fan? or inside the fan clutch? it seems to be independent of vehicle speed or RPMS. Fan itself seems to have moved inside the little housing. Off-Center so to speak. Seems to be the jacking of the car. The engine seems really tight, so it wouldn't make sense for it to be a mount of some sort.
