rear ended, where to go from here

hello all. im a lurker here on the forum, anyways
the car in the attached photos is my 1990-325i-4 door-auto-157,xxx miles
its got a little rust here and there but nothing significant, the car runs GREAT, i have had no problems with it, it is pretty much stock with all the maintenance records and such.
i got rear ended the other day and the persons insurance agency is not going to pay for repairs, however, they are going to let me keep the car and aren't going to call it totaled so they are leaving me with the option of repairing it and it wont be a salvaged car- there is nothing wrong with the car except for the damage in the pictures
i am in the process of finding another e30, i have my eyes on a 5 speed 88 convertible very close to where i live but i was wondering this
-should i try to repair it and try to sell it, is it even worth the money and time to repair (any estimates on cost to repair the damage?)
-should i sell it without fixing it (any ideas how much that would go for?)
    -any suggestions?

thanks a lot for any help

Are they going to pay you anything at all for the damages? The right shop will be able to fix the damage, but it'll be costly.

Its up to you whether you want to throw the money into it to get it fixed.

That's really not a hard fix, if you know what you're doing. Insurance could total it, but it can be fixed.

insurance is going to pay for it, the amount im still waiting to hear.
i'm deffinitly going to try and buy a 5 speed however i am thinking of seeing if my uncles body shop (Bodyworks Unlimited) can help me out. im still wondering though, to help pay for the 5 speed e30-whatever it might be- what a car like this in perfect running condition would go for as-is to someone i would assume is an enthusiast or likes to fix up cars? any ideas on that

ok, today i went and looked at a black 1991 318i convertible with 176,000 miles, paint is in good condition, interior is in very good condition, no rust at all, five speed, new fuel lines, no other major upgrades or changes from stock, the top goes down easily and had only one small blemish which was stitched up. the elderly man selling it said that he was looking for around 6,000 for it, i told him that was out of my range but he also said that he would be willing to take something like 4 grand and my car as it is for it. i still feel like that is a little pricey, although the car ran and shifted great. is that a reasonable price or too high?

option 1- take it to a shop today. drop it off. wait or get a rental if your policy allows you to. 5-speed it later when you swap out the m20 lol ; /
option 2- total it, get an absurd ammt of money and get another car... sucks either way man car looked good.
                      No more e30s for me.

thanks, yeah i think option 2 is whats happening, im still unsure if i want the 318i vert, does maybe 3k and the car sound better, 4k and the car just seems a little too much because my car, although "totaled" with its rear smashed up a little is in great condition

If you part it I would be interested in your hood if it is straight. One of my cars is the same color as yours.

you wont want the hood, its an aftermarket one with rust underneath the front

Car looked good. No wrinkle in 1/4's. Very fixable. Plus your rear panel was rusting anyway. All later models have rust traps by the tow hook. Now you can get it fixed for free.
