Windshield gasket...

I need to replace my 320,000 mile windshield. The car has been in SoCal and AZ it's whole life. Previous cars from here that used gaskets always required a new one since they were dried out and brittle. Are the BMW gaskets more resistant to the drying out?

I just bought a new gasket and clip. Was like $47.50 and $5.00 for a new clip. Now I just need the windshield. Better to throw a new one at it.
