what paint to use??? need fast help.

Hey everybody I am in the process of getting my car repainted.
It is alpine white 2. Now the question I have is what kind of paint to buy.
I have found sherwin williams ultra 7000, diamont, or I believe the bodyshop can get ppg paint. I am kinda on a budget. so what do you guys use or recommend. thanks

I am not sure of the pricing differences between your choices, but of the three I would choose between the PPG and the BASF Diamont. Personally, I would pick the Diamont-very good quality and from what painters have told me it is easy to spray and work with. It's also what we used on my car.

I agree with Eric, both are good paints. BTW, your car is hot.

You might want to get PPG for the best outcome if you plan on keeping the car for the long term, diamont if you're keeping in less than a few years.

Might want to stay away from Sherwin Williams unless your body shop has sprayed it before. This is the brand that Maaco uses and generally doesn't come out looking as nice. To get it nice could require more wet sanding/polishing out more orange peel. Results would depend on the painter/paint equipment.

Most of the Sherwin Williams paint jobs I've seen didn't have the clarity/depth/durability to match PPG and Dupont. Also came out with more orange peel requiring more after paint labor.

BUT, Alpine White is one of those colors that are harder to tell big differences on, unlike some metallics and reds. You could probably get away with any quality paint. my $.02
