    Potential BMW HPDE/Auto X rules/reg concerns?

I'm looking for a project to start building an auto-x /hpde car. I'm looking at a car that I'd have to change a couple things but I'm alittle "scared" of the rust. I have a body guy here in Dallas that can remove it (the car is located in MI). This might be a mute point if I see the car this week and the underside is shit but...

I have attached the photos of the rust. This might be a stupid question but with this minimal (crossing fingers) rust, I can still run in hpde events correct? Before i buy I'm going to look thoroughly underneath the car but these are the pics I was sent. Any thoughts? It's $1500...it has good records (timing belt ect.) , auto (which I'll change) but the rust (has 202k miles). I'm thinking i will offer 1200 if there isn't rust on the frame rails/floorboards.

Odds are that there will be more rust at the base of the front fenders and the trunk corners. Floorboards you might not be able to tell unless you pull up the edges of the carpet, its tough to tell from underneath because some of the area is a double layer of steel.

To answer your other question, the rust in the pictures will have no effect on you getting into an HPDE.

If you live in TX why are you looking at a car in MI? Find a nice dry texas car and not a rust-belt car.

Well, I'm looking both places. I'll be home in Toledo, ohio for 2 weeks and will be searching there and also have been searching in Dallas. I'll be defininetly checking the car out thoroughly before anything happens

From the pictures you attached, I'd be running so fast they'd have to invent new numbers to measure my speed. There's going to be rust *everywhere*.

DO not buy a car from MI.

Get one in Texas, unless it is a flood car from Houston.
