How can I get the clean side moulding look on my 88' cabrio?

I notice that there are lots of E30's that have the clean side moulding that does not have a chrome strip in the middle and does not appear to stick out too far from the side of the vehcile. When this moulding is painted to match the body color it gives a very streamlined look to the E30's . Making it look longer and not breaking it up on the side lines of the vehicles body. Is this Euro moulding? Or some special year moulding?

Also , the rubber around the front windshield without the chrome strip. Do they make the moluding without that chrome strip for the E30 so its all black and what do I look for there?

    Thanks for the info....

So then how is it done to keep the body color of the car like in this photo.

I want to do the same thing that is in the photo.

      And what skirts are those?
Stock OEM for the newer style E30 verts?

That car has an Mtech 2 body kit. It is an entire addon bodykit, not just filling and painting side mouldings.

Be aware that you need cabrio specific sideskirts because of the taller rocker panels.

And, it's not a cheap investment. Even the fiberglass Mtech2 kits are expensive, and they are shitty fit too.

Keep your eyes open for a cheap (probably around $800 or so dollars?) original Mtech2 kit. May have to be found overseas too.

Since he's got a cabrio, finding the US market M-Tech II kit should be a fair bit easier than getting the kit for the coupes, which was never actually sold here.

Be ready to spend a MINIMUM of $1000 for the kit alone.

BTW, welcome to the forum. Let's see some pics of your car!

yeah, easiest way to get the mtech II in the us is to get a cabrio. Thats the main reason I got mine.
