Will the US pre-88 bumpers work on the pre-88 euro spec cars

There is a guy in town here who has an 87 318i grey market. He said he likes the US spec bumpers better then the euro bumpers. I'm talking to him about trading mine for his. Will my bumpers bolt correctly to his car? I know I need to drill some holes for the euro bumpers for my car. Will that be the same case for him or not?

I dont see why not. you can put EU bumpers on a Us car, why not do the opposite?

Not readily I would think. The bumpers are fine but the plastic covers that run the top and down the sides screw in with 20 little screws that mount to nylon body washers that need holes in the body and some go through holes in the trunk. Id think he had to drill a LOT of holes in his body.
