I had a nice zender rear valance that I gave to a friend of mine a few months ago for plastic bumpered cars. I am wondering if the rear valance off a DB "is" is pretty much the same thing, and if it can be mounted on a plastic bumpered car? Is it bigger than the metal rear valance so that it will fit over the late model valance? I know that the DB cars do not have a metal rear valance. Thanks!

I read through your post a few times and still don't really have a good idea of what you're asking.
The 87 325is is an early model and does not really have what would be considered a rear valance
The 88 325is (with diving boards) is a late model e30 and has the same metal rear valance as all other late model, plastic bumpered e30s. The valance is part of the body and would have to be cut off.
It is possible he could use the rear valance from an '88 325is to repair or replace the valance on his plastic bumpered e30.

Some 87 is's came with a rear valance body kit type piece along with skirts and the front valance too. When the late model came out it had both front and rear valances in metal so they did not bolt up under the bumpers like the early models did.
Aftermarket body kit makers like zender then made pieces that were more stylish than the metal OE ones, that covered the stock valances. My question is would the original 87 is rear valance cover the late models metal rear valance like a zender would? The difference between porcupines and BMWs is that porcupines have the pricks on the outside!
