    painted raised lettering valve cover

has anyone painted their raised areas on the valve cover and intake? I am getting mine back from the powdercoaters tomorrow and would like to take it a step farther. i have them both done in wrinkle black and I am thinking about matching the raised area to the red hoses and spark plug wires I am installing. I would like to do the valve cover, intake manifold, the air box, and the raised sections on the spark plug wire cover. what do you think the best way would be the mask off the others area. What about painting the black plastic versus the polished metal how do I get them to be the same shade of red. Am I just crazy for even trying?

I've seen it done multiple times, but I'm not sure how they did it... I'm guessing its just a lot of masking/prep time...

Looks great. What sanding tools/technique did you use. I had mine powdercoated all black, but I like the polished ribs better. Seems like it will be a pita to polish off the powdercoating.

i just got a spare intake and VC to do up...
my wagon is malachit-grun (british racing green i like to call...)
i was thinking of matching the VC to the body paint and trimming the lettering out in yellow.

              is green/white/yellow a M racing color?
