    Silly question

Actually I have two of them:

Since I'm (or will be) in the market for another E30, I want the '89s and up because I hate diving boards. I tucked mine in and I still can't stand them. Anyway, if worse comes to worse and I get an '88, I'm pretty sure I can just bolt on the plastics without any sort of huge body modding like with the '84-'87s... right?

Oh, and I want one of those IS lips--not the straight line ones, the ones with the lower sides on the right and left and a raised center. Do they all come in primer? I read somewhere that Bavauto sells them in black... right?
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
    Mark: "You never will."

No body modification is neccessary for an 88. Staight swap.
For the IS lip, i believe they come primered? i might be wrong. You can always spray it with SEM paint to make it black or whatever youd like to do. I Think they sell in the new range for around 150ish.

I'd really like to get a black car so I wouldn't have to paint the IS lip, lol.

I know most E30s I've seen come with black trim on the bottom... might as well make the lip match that!

            It's called SEM Trim Paint

Same stuff people use to shadowline their chrome trim

Auto paint supply stores should have it or it's sold online too
