I have a question to add. Sorry about thread jacking but it pretty much is the same question. My valance in currently just really really rock chipped, paint is still there, just chipped all over. So I gather it would be best to just use red scothbrite to give it some texture, spray it black, and call it good? Seems too easy.

    What about clear coat?
