    door hinge pin replacement woes

hey guys, so i am trying to replace the door hinge pin on the lower hinge on the driverside door. I received the door hinge repair kit from bav auto and have been out tinkering with it. I can't seem to figure out how to remove the old, broken one to replace it.

Does anyone know how these things work?

    thanks in advance

you have to grind the top of the pin off then drive it out with a punch, its best to have a helper and a floor jack to hold the door. did the kit come with new bushings? ive only done fords and chevy's with weld on hinges and bushing kits, other wise i just replace the entire hinge if its a bolt on.

The hinges have a small bolt that holds it together. IIRC, take a 10mm ratchet and pop the little bolts off, unplug the door harness, take the dowel off the door brake, and lift the door up, freeing the door from the hinge. I would very carefully mark the alignment of the side on the hinge on the door before you loosen the 13mm nuts holding them on, so adjusting the door is a lot easier when it comes time to put it back on.
