    Body colored trim

    What do you guys think about body colored window trim? I'd also paint the kidney grill(not the headlight grills) body color. I know everyone just paints it black but I want to try something new and I think this would look good. I'm sure this has been done but I havn't seen any pictures of it and i've been looking on here for someone that's done it for a while.

    The e30 is zinnoberrot. I'm considering getting a full respray and this would be a good time to paint other parts like the trim and grills. I think the chrome looks faded and old and I don't want top paint it black like everyone else.

      Its not new.its been tried so many times and it just looks dumb without the contrast that e30s thrive on.please don't waste perfectly good trim by painting it red.i guarantee you'll regret it and just go back to the it was originally in due time.

          FWIW my trim was color matched when I got the car. The car looks 100x better with black trim.

              I'd have to agree with the other two. Contrasts is almost a necessity for E30s to look good. Black or chrome.

                  +1 Previous owner resprayed the car including the trim. I've since redone the shadowline around the windows and it looks much better.

                      Don't do it. It looks cheap and toy"ish". ESPECIALLY the kidney grills, do that and jump off a bridge. Seriously.

                      Disclaimer: I will not be held responsible if OP jumps off a bridge, just sayin'.
