Who else has the mysterious glass roof?

There was this kid that used to be a member here, his name was Andy (I can't remember what his username was), he bought my tranny swap kit last year.

He had one in his car, it was a pretty much bare-bones auto 89 325i.

Same deal with my buddy Neil [TurboRefriculator]. Picked up an auto late model 4 door for like $500 or $600 and it came with a glass moonroof. That son of a bitch, lol.

I have tried to buy several of them at different times but i always end up getting screwed in the sale and end up not getting it... i have a CF sunroof now but i wouldnt mind picking up a glass one still if its a really good condition with all parts(if someone wants to sell)... i have been thinking of picking up another e30 to drive until mine is done that i could put it in...

I have had (and sold) 2 of the factory BMW glass 'roofs in the past year or so. Both came installed in later ('90-91) 325i 4 doors with auto tranny + leather interior that I bought as wrecked parts cars. One was complete and in very good shape- sold for ~$500, the other was complete and in decent shape- though it had some rust on one of the metal plates that's bonded to the glass- sold it for ~$400.

I also recently had a '91 318is with aftermarket glass 'roof. I first thought it was a factory roof, but it had a 3 button switch and it had a black plastic trim piece around the hole they cut in the roof- the factory panel just replaces the metal panel and does not have this trim piece. I sold that car to a local guy, he's still driving it and loves the 'roof.

I have one... came in a 91 2 door auto. I cant decide if I want to keep it in my commuter (that I might sell some time soon) or put it in my m30 that I rarely drive and might turn into a strictly track car... I just don’t know... but for now its not for sale on its own, sorry

seriously it's a should I or shouldn't I. it all comes down to it can be kept and installed on the 323i or M3. Or sell it to fund m50 project. Can't really decide.
