    painting bumpers

    is there DIY guide somewhere on painting the black bumpers trim on the pre88 diving boards? I'de like to no what kind of paint would be best and what kind of prep work to do.

    For the trim I think Self etching primer and SEM trim paint.

    Sold it.

      yeah does anyone know whats up? i thought that you cant paint these or nothign will stick because its a rubbbery type material.. paint wont stick to it? i would like to body match mine.. i have an 84" w. diving boards.
      84" PORSCHE 944
      97" BMW Z3 (R.I.P)

        I'm pretty sure the SEM trim paint has a flex agent in the paint to allow it to expand/contract without cracking. You'll just want to make sure the primer you use does as well...

            There's no need to use self-etching primer on plastic body trim. Self-etching primer is an acid-based primer meant for chrome and bare metal. Regular primer will be fine, just sand the trim first.

              I did SEM self etch and trim black looks fine, I prepped with steel wool and some water and soap, no secrets here. I am redoing most of my trim with the SEM stuff, should look a million times better than the dirty shit grey look.
