How to remove plastic bumper rebar

    Hi guys,

Last night I took off my plastic bumper cover and noticed a greyish rebar held in by several torx screws. I think 6? or more??

I tried blasting the torx with PB but I was still unable to loosen them. They just clicked instead of break loose when I tried loosening them with a ratchet. Unfortunately I managed to strip one of them :(

Anyone have any idea how to remove them? Is there like a nut in the back holding them in?

    Thanks!

You need to pull off the bumper trims and then you will see a bunch of push clips behind them.
Pull them out and the cover will come off the rebar.

Nah, I already took off the plastic bumper cover, i'm just trying to take off the rebar. Its held on by a couple flat torx screws. I'm just trying to get to the bumper shocks to check for any damage and i wanna take off the lower valence as well.

Oh, well then WTF. Its a torx bolt on the bottom of the rebar. I think either T50 or T55.
Get on your back and look up. You will see a hole on each side in front of the bumper shocks.

Just to add a little to what White325is already said, in order to remove the front bumper you're not supposed to remove the cover first. The rebar and cover are fastened together and both are removed as one assembly.

Depending on the year you either have two Torx-55 Bolts are two 10mm Hex bolts accessible from the underside of the bumper. You may need a breaker bar to loosen the bolts. Once they are removed, the bumper pulls forward and off the car.
