Check out the bumper tuck on my cabby!

    Hey guys,

I tucked my diving boards a few days ago. My friend took a video of the front getting pushed in by a wall. I can't host .mov files though. can anyone else?

I drilled all four shocks while they were on the car. I am going to do a plastic bumper swap in a few months (depending on $$$), but this was totally worth the 20 minutes it took.

I also stopped by this tiny park to take a few pics. I painted the wheels also. Don't laugh, I know they look totally 1988 JDM fabulous. I just wanted them to look better than they did, and they impressed the only person I was trying to impress (ME :D )

Don't mind my half finished interrior.

    Stock:

    Tucked:

Partially shadowlined, painted wheels, partial interrior:

Looks great man, I like the wheels. Any black center/polished lip looks good IMO. What kind of wheels are they/what size?

Did it get messy drilling the bumpers on the car? I wanted to tuck my beater's bumpers, but I'm too lazy to take them off. Did you mask it off or anything?

You should paint the front bumper strip. It'd make it look 10x better.

I like the wheels. I think I'll have to refinish my Fittipaldis for this winter.

I have no idea what brand the wheels are. They will be for sale this summer sometime most liekly. They are 14x6 I believe. They would make great autocross wheels (lower your gearing) Because you can get pretty small diameter tires for them. Like I have now.

I would paint the bumper strip, but I am going to do a plastic bumper swap and get some urethane paint for the whole car this summer. It would be a waste of $$$.

The shocks werent too messy. Not much oil came oit, but it sprayed pretty wild. I spilled some in the back, since it sprayed out about 15 minuted after I drilled it. I had a 30"x50" oil drop pan below the shocks when I drilled them. I never removed anything from the car to do this mod, and I think anyone who does is a sucker. (not really. But it would have been a waste of my time ;) )

i tucked my rear bumper yesterday(front is plastic) but i didn't tuck it as much as you, i think there is a point where it is too tucked, mine is just less noticable and more subtle. i also blacked the bumper out, it looks 100x better with the diamon shwarz

So you drilled the bumper shocks while on the car, then pushed them in against a wall. Then what? Ran a screw in the hole you drilled to keep the bumpers in place? I need to do this pronto! Thanks.

It take s a lot of force to compress those shocks, I wouldn't be concerned with them ever coming undone. I am really not concerned since I doing a plastic bumper swap this summer.
