Looking for a gallon or two of the OEM Calypsorot paint. I'm hoping to respray a panel or two.
Where can I get factory paint?

Any automotive paint store/supplier in your area can mix and supply any brand of paint in the factory color.
If absolutely want BMW branded paint you'll have to make a trip to a BMW dealership. Bring lots of cash. :D
Also a gallon or two is a hell of a lot of paint...especially just to respray one or two panels. -
Shit changed in 20 years.
You can't buy that paint anymore, at least in the US.
Maybe in Mexico, but likely not.Comment

NAPA can mix paintcode paint, and provide it in a rattle can or a bucket. Takes a few extra days if they have to mix it (like they did mine), but who cares? It matches.

That's what I was afraid of. Love the color but the PO did some absolutely awful cheap 30-minute paint job and the color is literally peeling off at this point so I gotta do something quick. IIRC the factory paint was Glasurit, I'll see if I can get that.
Fuck, I don't wanna paint this thing, but I don't feel like dropping $4500 on a $3000 car either.sigpic

Check out PaintScratch.com they will mix up any OEM color and send it to you in virtually any quantity, even in aerosol cans if need be. I keep a can of each color car I have just in case...Comment

have someone mix a GOOD QUALITY paint(ie Glasurit, Spies Hecker) and use that.
or if the car's paint is slightly faded/sun burt, have a paint place match the color of the panel adjacent to the ones you plan on painting so the difference between new and 20 year old paint is not that obvious.YOUTUBE: AR Perez

I have the same color car..I've been through everything to try and restore the faded paint to avoid a full respray. DA polisher, pads, compounds..you name it. Still not how I want it to look.
I used Napa to have them mix up 2 spray cans of paint to re-spray a new valance. It matched well, but goes on VERY thin. IIRC it was like $17 a can..and it was ready same day.Comment
