Q: Difference between Alpineweiss and Alpineweiss II
It is noticable. The PO of my E21, which is Alpineweiss I, tried to touch up some spots with Alpine II touch-up paint. If the sun is out it is really apparent.

touch-up paint seems to always stick out a little in my experience, even if it is OEM stuff. Not to say AW1 and AW2 are not noticeably different but maybe not as much as touch-up paint.
I am in the same boat. I need AW2 fenders and am tempted to get some AW1's.

Thanks guys.
I went to some auto wreck places today, and I found the color difference is not super huge, but those cars were put outdoor for a long time, i'm not sure how it will be like when a aw1 part is on a aw2 car. I will keep looking for a aw2 hood tho.
my hood and fenders are different alpines, only visible in florescent light (in garage). I didn't notice it when I bought it in plain daylight. I agree that touch up paint would be pretty obvious.
