    Font bumper swap question ??

    I have a 1986 e30

I would like to swap the front metal bumper for a newer plastic bumper like 1990, is possible right?

Im going to a junk yard this coming weekend

    What tools do I need?

Do I have to get something else that my car needs to hold the new bumper?

What about the rear bumper is possible too? or I should keep it like that?
    Thanks in advance!

I put a front lip just to see how it look but I didn't realy like it

you will need the front valance, to make the plastic bumper work. it's all bolt on to your front end. Take EVERYTHING off the front of the car you are getting parts from. you'll need a hex socket or star socket to remove the two bolts under the front bumper holding this on. If you can't get it off then try removing the 4 bumper bolts - take the bumper shocks with this, you'll need them.

Parts included in the swap: front bumper, rebar, front shocks, front valance and all mounting hardware from the front side fender for the sliders. that part is easy.

The rear of the car is a different story. Pre -88 cars have a different set up so there would be cutting and fitting of the bumper required plus you would have to make brackets or cut them off a the car and fit them to yours.

Bring lots of tools as you may need to get creative in removing it. Also bring a torch that is stronger then propane. They can be really rusty.

Okay, excuse my noob status. I have a 91 model cabby with metal bumpers. Can I just get replacement plastic bumpers for a direct swap without any modifcations for both the front and rear? Just something I'd like to know since I may keep the metal bumpers for awhile anyway.

            Thanks,

If you have a 91, you have plastic bumpers, or if cabby means convertible and you have them stock, you will be able to swap with no mods. NO WORRIES.
