    Poll: AW Painted Diving Boards??

    This is my car

I'm currently debating if paiting the diving boards and the bumper side fillers in all black SEM paint, AW DB with black SEM mouldings and AW side fillers, stock look chrome DB with Filler and mouldings SEM black. Bumpers will be tucked ;).

    Pics will be welcome!

I've seen tucked and painted bumpers on a Black 325eS, it looked very nice in pics. But never saw it in person. I'm thinking that may be too much black on your car unless there were more accents elsewhere.

Thought about doing the same with my Gazellen Beige car, I have black pinstripes, and thought about adding some other accents. I think striking the right balance is key.

The car will go to the paint shop in about a month (depends on how fast they get out their current cars), the only thing I'm sure that will go white right now is the mirrors, kidneys will be black. And I'm looking to buy late model front and rear valance and Ix skirts. Also have the coilovers sitting in the garage and some 16x8 wheels.

I would like to paint my front DB bumper satin black,
but also wanting to paint the rubber surrounds to match. What is the best paint to use...SEM black trim paint? A coworker mentioned that I should use a self etching primer as the basecoat on the aluminum to improve adhesion?
                  Any suggestions?

sand the aluminum to rough it up then use a primer as suggested. SEM trim paint is really good paint to use (high quality)
