For the Front, pull the bumper, then there will be a row of 8 or so 8mm bolts right under the trim, remove all those, then Pull out the fender lines and reach in and undo 2 8mm bolts that hold the side od the trim to the Valance. In the rear from inside the trunk there is a row holding on the center strip, then another couple in the 2 trays and allong the side of the trunk that hold the trim. It's easy to do on an e30 but try it on an E24

thanks, the rear bumper molding is off. theres a bolt in the fender and one on the bottom side of the bumper near the wheel well that need to be loosened as well. fairly easy...only broke one bolt cause it was rusted to hell.

im gonna wait and do the front once the back is all done...anyone have any pointers on prepping the molding for paint. I figured wash it, sand it, wash it, primer?, paint

          any advice appreciated...thanks

Great pics - thanks for going to the effort. *Please* do the same detailed pics when you get to the front - because it sounds quite a bit more complicated.

I am myself debating wether to paint those moldings diamanten schwarz (my car color) or just touch them up with Fade-to-BLack or flat black paint. On a red car they look SOO much better painted ...

The fronts are failry straight forward. Just remove the bumper and you will see most of the screws. Remove the ones you see and try and remove the moulding if there is resistance look as to where its comming from and remove the screw.

              Sold it.
