on my 91 this piece of black aluminum (?) trim keeps popping off towards the front of the car near the hood. I push it back on and it comes off... it flew off once already. It seems the rail it attaches to has some built in retention at the roof, but nothing towards the front... am I missing some clips?

This part uses no separate clips. It deforms if it is pulled off.
I just bent mine back into a "C-shape" with pliers and a strip of leather, then inserted some generic 2-part epoxy into the gap.Comment

Its actually item 4...can i assume i need item 13 and maybe 15 to install it? I'll have to see if I can go find them from the junk yard one of these days if thats what I'm missingComment

most likely the retainer clips have rusted or wore away that hold the front of the trim to the car. This happened to me. I just got some replacements from someone on this site and I was good to go.1989 US E30 Cammed S52
