First part of shadowline conversion done

Well, after 2 1/2 hours, I finally got the front and rear lockstrips swapped out from nasty, yellowed, corroded, used-to-be chrome to nice satin black. I used DaveCN's lockstrip tool that he let me borrow, and I have to say, that was one of the single most FRUSTRATING jobs I have ever done on my car.

The strips would slide in smoothly for a few inches, then one side would pop out, then it would go for a few more inches, then another side would pop out, and so on and so on. At the end, I got as much of it in the seal as I could, and then had to go back with a flathead screwdriver and jimmy the rest in. I lightly nicked and scuffed it in a few spots, but it's nothing that can't be taken care of later.

The only other hitch I ran into was the front ended up being about 1/4 of an inch short at the bottom where the 2 ends meet and the little clip goes on, so the clip is just kind of sitting in the middle of the 2 ends, but it looks fine. And those strips aren't coming out. :D

Now I know what some of you are saying:

I'll leave you with this. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, when I post pics of my car in a few weeks, you'll want to grab a Snickers, because they're going to read like the Library of Congress.
