    Spot painting/Rust removal

So I have some small surface rust spots and the normal rusted rear valance near the tow hook and passenger side. Also have some small little spots near the gas cap and all of the fender lips from being rolled and not repainted. There was a spot on the front valance too and I already pulled the whole valance off. Planning on just standing these spots down to bare metal.

The car is 1989 Alpine white (II pretty sure). I was planning on just spot painting the spots after the rust removal and I was wondering whats the best way to do so. I really wish I could afford a whole quality respray but I cant. Only real complaint with the current paint is that front fenders got a respray at some point right over the pinstripe and its half visible in some parts.

Thanks for all and any input!

    No one?

I did my front valance with some normal gloss white and it looks good, but I wouldnt wanna take that straight ontop of the stock paint, its not that close.

Hard to spot paint over old paint in a lot of different places & have it look right. If the car is painted with base/clear, then you can blend the clear after sanding the area with 1000 wet, & using blending reducer/agent to help melt in the edge of the clear. Dust a little blender on the area, & again after clearing. Do this for each coat of clear. Sand with 1000 wet again & then with 15000 & buff.

At that point its starting to seem like the easier option would be to repaint the whole car

Yeah when you're talking about spotting in places all over the car it's usually best to paint the whole thing.
Bring it to me & I'll lay a really slick paintjob on it & do some trick stripes/graphics if you like. ;)

You want 200 large deer painted on your car? :D
Probably around $2500 - $3000 depending on the condition of the body/paint. A little more for custom graphics.
Going to soon be able to post pics here - have to get "bannerless hosting" on my domain name in order to hotlink photos. Right now I can link to my webpages, but don't have pages yet of my most recent paintjobs (1 Fiero & 1 BMW). But here's mine: http://angelonearth.net/BMW.html
