    Wide front/rear fender work

Post some pictures of what you've done or just good examples of what's been done. I am looking into running something like 275/285 tire size so I'll need to get some ideas.

I do want it to look good still, not just functional.

    thanks!

E46 front fenders, eh? Thread saved! The IE flares are pretty cheap though.

subscribed... I really like the look of those e46 flares... I wonder how wide a tire you could fit with them

The e46 front fender is old and common knowledge guys.
You can buy any year e46 sedan front fenders aftermarket for cheap (my cost is like $25), cut them out then apply them as needed.

This has been going on at least since 2005 that i know about, many e36 racers do this mod and its also what Vorschlag eventually did to their Alpha LS1 car.

^ So to do a whole car, two L, and, two R fenders to do a whole car?

Interesting! I've heard of this once before, a friend of mine has an e46 so I'll have to take a look and see that will be enough!

                $25 per? CHEAP!

Yeah just use the front fenders so buy 4 and cut out the arches.
This way they still have the finished edge like a factory flare.

Jean the $25 is my cost but even over the counter should only be about double that or less for cheapie aftermarket.

I need to confirm how much room they'll provide. Maybe ill find a beat up one first for mock up. I need enough room for 275s

They should give plenty of room as guys have ran 275/35's on just pulled/hacked fenders from what I've noticed.

I was referring to auto-x guys that are running 15x10's with the fenders pulled/pryed/tweaked for them to fit with minimal interference.
It does look like shit but it gets the job done.

I have some pics saved somewhere, let me dig them up.

I also have thought about running the 285/30/18's as the 275/15's won't let me keep my BBK.
Problem is the 285/18's are just too tall it seems and won't let you get a decent look.
All the e30's I've seen run that size look like giant monsters. :p
Also while they are over 2" taller they are less than a half inch, 10mm, wider.

Heres a set of 15x10's with 5" backspace and 8mm spacers in front for tire to clear the strut:

See, I knew there were pics out there of it being done! :D
