I'm starting to build interest in detailing and would very much like to restore the paint on my e30. I know nothing about detailing but I've been reading a lot on this forum. Adept wrote out an awesome step by step guideline on how he does it, along with both atomic and whakiewes chiming in with some of their inputs. Unfortunately they seem to be MIA on the forum and the thread is about 4 years old so I was hoping to get some help from other members who detail their car or other cars for a living.
I see that everyone who details their car uses Porter Cable or at least recommends it. My question is... Do you recommend it even for noobs like me who is trying to learn, or is there some other brand that would be better? If you still recommend Porter Cable, is there a specific model I should look into? All I seem to find online is the 7424xp model.
Also, like quite a few members in here, my car's paint is single stage. How would you restore/detail single stage painted cars? What kind of pads, swirl removers, and wax would you recommend?
