E30 Hard top question - Is mine different than most?

I've only seen 2 E30 hard tops in person: mine and my friends. His has a grey headliner that seems to be made of cloth glue to foam (it's squishy when you poke it).

I've heard that headliner sagging is an issue with hardtops and can see his loosening at certain points.

The interior of mine is a black fabric (doesn't have that same squishy feel) that doesn't feel like it's loose at all (odd for being 20 years old no?). Was this a stock option or has mine been reupholstered?

I'm not complaining, I love that it's in perfect shape and black inside, I'm just curious.

Stock is thin foam with gray meshy fabric, and feels squishy. Of all headliner jobs redoing a vert hard top has to be the easiest, partially cuz you can put it on the floor upside down and gravity isn't working against you like usual.

yep I have had 2 hardtops both with sagging headliners and both were stock color. Black looks so much better. I went to auto store and bought black headliner material in a big roll for $40.00 and they even make a spray to make it stick good...
