Anyone have any tips on bringing oem red paint back to life?

My 91 318is has incredibly faded red paint. I'm wondering if anyone has any steps on how to make it look good again? Thx

A buffer speeds the process up if you have access to one.

the paint used by bmw back "then" I believe wasn't base/clear. Easier to bring back, then clear, but over time will eventually fade again unless you keep on the wax -quality wax! the pigment in the red's and blacks were funny blend for those cars. For some reason the sun seems to like to suck the color out.lol.
it won't be as shiny as clear coat but would take half the time to do. Depending on the condition of the paint; You might want to wet sand first in case you have some deep scratches without going through the finish. Then cut and polish in order to do it properly.

a variable rate buffer would be ideal and get a few foam pads because the red will transfer into it and get dirty real fast. When the pad gets dirty, you'll need to rinse under water. However, you can get away with a 1-2 step -quick and dirty..just to get it relatively shiny. :-)
