    bmw roundel?

    First thread on here (woo)

i was wondering where i could find some of the black bmw roundels for my '86 bmw. I want the ones that look like theyre carbon fiber inside the roundel. I have found many on ebay, but i know that the roundel size for the trunk is 86mm, and the ones on ebay (or anywhere else ive looked) are all 82mm, which is the hood size isnt it? Any help would be appreciated, my roundels are nearly trashed. Thanks

hopefully i can post a picture of what they look like below.

ive only glanced through the website, but do they only sell the overlays? and are those the better ways to go rather than the entire roundel? but thanks for the website though, probably end up bein useful.

Well, the newer OEM Roundels are plastic, and the aftermarket ones are even worse. The overlay is the best for maintaining fit and quality of the part. The good thing about the overlays is that you can put them over a chipped/faded roundel.

sounds good to me, thanks for your help. $70 seems pretty steep for a set of seven stickers though.. might have to think a little before i buy..

Get the measurements off the roundel on your car with a micrometer, go to your local mall sticker kiosk, see if they have CF sticker material, and make your own, I bet you'll spend half.

But is that worth the work, or is a proven product the better direction of action?

yea, mall stickers seem like theyd come off next time you washed the car. im trying to keep this car until its run into the ground, which hopefully it will never be. so ill spend the extra for the quality overlays. and i might as well buy some smoked lense films thatll go with my delphin grey color as well. great website

Not a big fan of putting plastic over the output surface of your headlamps. I'd suggest looking for a set of Smoked Ellipsoids.

nah they arent for the headlights. i dont want to tint the headlights, even if i buy aftermarket lights. they only thing i will ever smoke, is the tail lights. i dont want to decrease the distance my stock headlights reach

how much do those run you? but either way im buying the film for the tail lights rather than the head lights. and im still undecided if i even want to buy them yet.

~$575.00, unless you find a nice used set, they go about $350.00 or so.

Well, you can get a set of ellipsoids used for about $120-175, and a set of crosshairs for ~$30 and do the work yourself, takes about an afternoon.
