that said it will peel off it you spray it then try to tape it off :P

SEM is meant to be the best but i cant find it in Australia...
      huh, confused

          No gloss.

Just paint the grills with the semi-gloss of your choice.
If you want to paint your chromed kidneys then you would want to use the adhesion promoter followed by primer before the paint.
But even then the kidney will still chip eventually.

For painting the kidneys or even to shadowline the window trim I suggest using the PlastiDip Rubberized spray.

I say the thing about peeling cause I didn't scuff my bumpers or use adhesion promoter cause the 3M stuff says it doesn't need it and has in built plastic promoter. I have an early late model so I have plastic bumpers but they aren't body colour they're dark grey with the black trims. I couldn't get my trims off easily, so my plan was to paint the boer grey with the 3M charcoal grey bumper paint, then tape off the grey and paint the black trims with the black colour. But didn't end up being able to do it very well as when I tried to put painters tape on the grey plastics even two days later it peeled it.

TherefOre if I was you I would try to at least scuff with the scotch pad to help it stick whatever you use..

If your just painting your chrome kidneys, i just did a re-coat for mine after 5 years. Don't remember what i used last time but i picked up dupli-color trim paint. Its flat and i think it looks good.

As far as adhesion, imho, if it fails, take another 15 minutes out of your life and do it again. not to hard.

for my kidneys i washed them, sanded the shiny chrome faux plastic, wiped down with alcohol, and 5-7 coats of paint followed.

for the grills i cleaned well, fixed some cracks, and then hit with 5-7 coats, i like to hang my peices in the garage while i paint

Does anyone have pics of semi-gloss,satin and matte?

I want to know what kind of color the new M3 is using for the black part(base) of the side mirrors. I think it would look good on the grill, kidneys,"chrome" window trims and side trims.
